He graduated from Ankara University, Department of International Relations in 1992. Later he went to the US to continue his higher education. He earned his masters\u2019 degree at Texas State University in 1996, and PhD at Purdue University in 2000. He worked as assistant dean at K\u0131r\u0131kkale University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences between 2002 and 2004. He also occupied the Head of the International Relations Department position at the same university between 2002-2004 and 2005-2008. His administrative work included membership in the university senate between 2005-2010.
